During my teenage years in a small town, I found my leisure time to be spent repairing appliances such as radios and televisions, installing satellite aerials and other electronic devices for friends and family. I also built my first computer at the age of 17 using a Sinclair Z80.

During this period the internet was not yet developed and the only means of communicating with someone far away was through radio. My amateur radio code name was Andromeda 2000 for 27 LSB, SSB and 144 MHz bands.
I delighted many of our teenage friends by assembling psychedelic lights and FM radio transmitters and a linear power amplifier to support our first private radio in the late 1980s.
Of course, I began a DJ career from that period but this is a separate story.
