AI also reshapes power in subtler ways. Control over models, training data, and compute infrastructure grants agenda-setting power: the ability to define what problems are optimized, which languages are prioritized, and which cultural assumptions are encoded.
In this sense, AI is not just a tool of power—it is a lens through which power is exercised. Regions without a voice in AI development risk having their realities abstracted, simplified, or ignored by systems that increasingly mediate economic and administrative decisions.
Ethics, Governance, and Global Norms
The ethical debate around AI has matured beyond abstract principles. Today, the challenge is operational: how to translate values into enforceable, scalable governance without stifling innovation.

The outcome depends less on the technology itself and more on cultural norms, education systems, and intentional design choices. Societies that teach critical thinking, AI literacy, and reflective use will harness augmentation. Those that treat AI as a shortcut may erode foundational skills.
